Becoming a Member of Unity of Whidbey
Membership at Unity of Whidbey is more than just a name on a list; it is a sacred commitment to your own spiritual growth and the flourishing of our mutual community. It means joining a collective of truth-seekers dedicated to living by New Thought principles and supporting one another in love and light.
What does membership involve?
Membership at Unity of Whidbey offers you the opportunity to grow in Spirit. As you pursue your spiritual path, we encourage you to explore what it means to be committed to living universal truths. Membership in Unity is not required, but is encouraged as a way for an individual to commit to his or her own spiritual growth. Active members attend services regularly, participate in events, invest their time in service to our spiritual community, attend classes and contribute their financial gifts to Unity of Whidbey.
Do I have to be a member to attend on Sundays or special events?
Membership is not required to participate joyfully in the work of Unity of Whidbey. All worship, educational, and social activities are open to everyone.
Why should I consider becoming a member?
Membership is a step to consider when you are ready to place your spiritual growth first, knowing that as you do, and to the degree you do, “all else shall be added unto you.” This ministry supports you in knowing “the kingdom of God within you.” We are dedicated to assisting you in learning to live an increasingly effective and fulfilled life. Membership is asking more of yourself so that you might experience spiritual growth leading to personal transformation, the fullness of life, and an abundance of all good things.
Membership in Unity of Whidbey helps to transform any old feelings of “not belonging.” Many of us arrive at Unity from other traditions having searched for a place where we feel at home. Embracing membership affirms, “I belong!”
Committing to membership is a public affirmation that says “I walk my talk” setting an example for others in living a positive life.
Only members can participate in voting on important church matters and serve on the Board of Directors.
You become a part of the growing group of people who are living consciously and actively making a difference in the world right here on Whidbey Island.
How do I officially join?
Unity of Whidbey has a New Member Sunday periodically throughout the year when new members are welcomed into our spiritual family with a ceremony within the Worship Celebration. If, after prayerful consideration, you wish to pursue membership in Unity of Whidbey, complete the Membership Application below.
Is there a cost to join?
We do not have a fixed fee for membership. We operate on the principle of sacred giving, where members contribute as they feel moved to support our spiritual home and its mission.
